Students at University of California San Diego School of Medicine who identify as Latinx have created a close-knit community that feels more like familia through the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA).
This summer, the world became a classroom for hundreds of Tritons who ventured out of their comfort zones, immersed themselves in unfamiliar cultures, met new people and opened their minds to new ideas and fresh possibilities for the future.
The annual Black Surf Week kicked off the academic year by inviting a cohort of over 30 student participants to dive headfirst into educational sessions and activities that explore and discuss Black and African Diasporic relationships to land and water.
A fresh academic year has officially begun at UC San Diego and the campus is bustling with activity. More than 150,000 first year and transfer students applied to join the university, over 32,000 were admitted and an estimated 10,000 new undergraduate students are expected to enroll this fall.
This fall, UC San Diego will be able to provide on-campus housing to nearly 14,000 undergraduate students. Beyond beds, new projects bring space for a new undergraduate college, innovative green features, diverse dining, campus-inspired art and open space for all to enjoy.
