On April 15, an expected crowd of about 4,000 UC San Diego students, faculty, staff and alumni—as well as San Diego community members—will come together on campus to benefit student scholarships at the 22nd annual Triton 5K & Festival.
Amanda Schochet could not have predicted that her love for science would lead her to become a storyteller who shares the wonders of the world via miniature museums. Schochet earned two degrees from UC San Diego, including a bachelor's in biology in 2011 and a master's in ecology, behavior and evolution in 2014.
UC San Diego happenings and news received a lot of attention on social media over the summer break. More than 3,500 new fans joined the UC San Diego Facebook site. An additional 1,000 people also began following the UC San Diego News Twitter feed, bringing the total to nearly 14,000.
