In fiscal year 2019, UC San Diego earned $1.35 billion in sponsored research funding, a 10% increase over the previous year. This is the largest number ever for the university and marks the 10th consecutive year the campus has surpassed the $1 billion mark.

Every day, more than 70,000 vehicles and 20,000 pedestrians cross the San Ysidro border between Mexico and the United States for work, travel and education.

UC San Diego will host its 9th annual Center for Circadian Biology Symposium Feb. 13-15, 2019. The three-day event, entitled “From Cells to Clinic,” will culminate with a talk from the winner of the 2017 Nobel Prize in Medicine Michael W. Young, who will speak about delayed phase sleep disorders.
