This weekend UC San Diego participated in the La Jolla Christmas Parade & Holiday Festival. Chancellor Khosla served as the Educational Marshall of the parade leading a UC San Diego contingent that included Triton Athletes, the UC San Diego Dance Team, King Triton and the UCSD Pep Band.
What is control theory? In this video, researchers in the lab of UC San Diego electrical and computer engineering professor Jorge Poveda explain control theory and its real-world applications. From the cruise control in your car to the management of invasive species, control theory is at work all around us. Poveda lab members provide a glimpse into their ongoing work, showing how they're advancing the field of controls to make systems smarter and more robust. In recognition of his contributions to the field, Poveda was named the recipient of the 2023 Donald P. Eckman Award by the American Automatic Control Council (AACC).
