Over the next few years, a series of regional transportation projects will occur at and around UC San Diego, transforming how students, faculty, staff, patients and visitors will access campus. The projects will accomplish everything from bringing the trolley into the heart of campus to constructing a new transit center and expanding the Genesee Avenue Bridge and Interstate 5 interchange.

UC San Diego is among the top 20 schools in the country for the number of graduates who work at Google, according to a report from Business Insider released last month. More than 400 UC San Diego alumni currently work at the tech company, placing the campus at No. 12 on the list. Looking for talented students to fill the ranks of engineers, designers and other positions, recruiters from 150 companies—including Google—participated in the fall quarter Triton Science and Technology Job Fair held on campus Oct. 22.
UC San Diego’s newest tradition—Triton Fest—had students dancing to a silent disco, running from zombies, racing go-karts and tackling inflatable obstacles in superhero costumes. More than 7,300 students attended the fall kickoff experience, which was held the first three Friday and Saturday nights in October. The free late-night events offered an opportunity for all students to socialize and get involved in campus life early in the academic year.
Genevieve Fleming Hollinger has been volunteering ever since she was 12 years old. The Washington, D.C. native and freshman at Warren College started giving back to her community by making care packages for the homeless.
