Make Your Voice Heard: UC Campus Climate Survey to Kick Off at UC San Diego

If you think your voice doesn’t count, think again. Starting next week, UC San Diego students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to share their opinions by participating in the University of California Campus Climate Study Survey. The systemwide effort—believed to be the largest survey of its kind ever conducted—asks more than 430,000 individuals about their experiences with diversity and inclusion at work and on campus.

UC San Diego historian Mark Hanna, an authority on the rise and fall of pirates during the first British Empire, will deliver a lecture at 1 p.m. on January 16 on “Pirates in Print: Seafaring Treasures of the Mandeville Special Collections Library.” The lecture is free and open to the public and takes place in the Seuss Room in Geisel Library on the UC San Diego campus.

After an academic theater career that spanned nearly 40 years, Arthur Wagner—founding chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of California, San Diego—is still passionate about training the next generation of theater and dance artists. As a result of budgetary cuts at the University of California, funds for student productions have all but dried up.
