Matthew and Iris Strauss and the Strauss Family Foundation have donated a world-class collection of contemporary art to the University of California San Diego. The collection is comprised of more than 100 pieces by artists from around the globe.
The Simons Foundation has provided $28.8 million and the Heising-Simons Foundation has provided $1.5 million to the UC San Diego to complete the last phase of construction on the Simons Observatory in Chile.
University of California San Diego cancer biologist Tatiana Hurtado de Mendoza has been named the recipient of the 2023 Claugus Award for Medical Research. The award was established in 2021 by the Foundation For A Better World.
