The Triton spirit was felt throughout UC San Diego’s annual “Welcome Week” tradition. The Unolympics, Welcome Week dance, Students Services Fair and the Triton Power Hour were just a few of the week’s events, all designed to foster UC San Diego’s school spirit and sense of community for both new and returning students.
The University of California, San Diego will welcome an estimated 3,400 incoming freshmen and record 2,750 transfer students for the first day of classes, Thursday, Sept. 22.
New Stuart Collection piece to sit 100 feet in air
Continuing educations classrooms and enrollments are on the rise at University of California San Diego Extension, according to Elizabeth Silva, registrar and director of student services for the University’s extended studies programs.
The University of California, San Diego may be known as a research power house, but in a setting where students are surfing in the morning and studying science in the afternoon, the campus has become a hotbed for fun. The university was recently named by Newsweek as one of the “greenest” and “happiest” universities in the nation.
The University of California, San Diego Libraries will host their annual “Dinner in the Library” Sept. 15 to benefit the Libraries’ collections and services.
