Brittaney Khong, a 2013 graduate of UC San Diego, is promising to climb a mountain if she meets her goal of raising $1,000 for undergraduate scholarships. Khong has her eye on Mount San Gorgonio, located in the San Bernardino Mountains near her hometown.
Throngs of students crowded Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla on Ridge Walk Monday to exchange a smile, pose for a photo and receive a chocolate chip cookie as a personal gesture of hospitality during Welcome Week. As he handed out the cookies, Khosla lightheartedly reminded students to “Try to eat lunch before you eat that!”
Fall quarter classes begin today for approximately 31,000 students at UC San Diego, including a record estimated 5,179 incoming freshmen and 2,645 new transfer students.
