A new mobile app launched by the UC San Diego Library during fall quarter has proven to be a real hit with campus smart phone users, especially those who are on the prowl for an open computer in the Library or another study space on campus.
For travelers who seek out unique arts experiences, the University of California, San Diego’s renowned multi-arts presenter, ArtPower!, has put together the ultimate vacation package. Artistic Director Martin Wollesen will guide travelers through premiere arts destinations in the U.S. and overseas for in-depth experiences with performances, artists and arts leaders. The excursions, called Power!Trips, are open to the public with the objective of building support for ArtPower!

UC San Diego has again been named one of the nation’s best schools for surfing, taking the No. 2 spot in The Surf Channel’s list of top 10 universities for surfers. The channel attributes the ranking to the university’s proximity to the “shreddible” breaks at Black’s Beach and its “epic” surf team, which has won six National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) titles.
Every February, UC San Diego scholarship recipients and donors connect at the Hearts and Scholars dinner. For students, it’s an opportunity to thank the individuals who have helped to make their education possible.
