As part of Changemaker Week 2024, UC San Diego invites the campus community to join in a transformative weeklong celebration from Jan. 13-20 dedicated to igniting change and fostering the spirit of activism.
The second-annual Celebration of Cultures was held at the Epstein Family Amphitheater with the event theme, “I Am UC San Diego,” to recognize that, while we bring unique perspectives and diverse backgrounds as individuals, we are also united as one community.
Holiday cheer will be in full gear at UC San Diego’s Epstein Family Amphitheater throughout the month of December. This will be the inaugural series of holiday concerts hosted at the state-of-the-art performance venue.
The second installment in the university’s Equity in Mental Health Event series brought together educators from across campus for two days of workshops that equipped them to transform their classrooms and research labs into “resilient spaces” that empower all students to thrive.
The Helen Edison Lecture series welcomes Matthew Desmond, a professor of sociology at Princeton University, and author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning, Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City, and the more recently released, Poverty, By America.
Presented by UC San Diego Extended Studies, the Burke Lectureship Series on Religion and Society explores the relationship between religion, ethics, and humanity in contemporary society with speaker Father Bryan Massingale, an outspoken voice for anti-racism and LGBTQ+ rights.
