New Laser Option for Treatment of Epilepsy at UC San Diego Health

Patients with drug-refractory epilepsy have a new treatment option at UC San Diego Health. Instead of traditional surgery, patients may be eligible for a novel technique that allows surgeons to target the abnormal area of brain with laser technology. The MRI-guided laser ablation treatment is a new first-line therapy for patients diagnosed with epilepsy.

UC San Diego Professor Receives Signal Processing Society Technical Achievement Award

Center for Networked Systems Adds New Faculty Members

The San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California San Diego have been awarded a NASA ACCESS grant to develop a cyberinfrastructure platform for discovery, access, and visualization of data from NASA’s ICESat and upcoming ICESat-2 laser altimeter missions.
