From Half Moon Meadow to Roger’s Community Garden, the UC San Diego campus features multiple gardens that build community while promoting education and the growth of local produce. Follow a recent sweet potato harvest as it traveled from farm to fries to fundraiser.
The campus community came out Nov. 12 for a night of Triton Men’s Basketball and to celebrate the naming of LionTree Arena. A pre-game ceremony featured Aryeh Bourkoff ’95, founder and CEO of LionTree, which gave $5 million for athletic scholarships.
Quantum Materials for Energy Efficient Neuromorphic Computing (Q-MEEN-C), led by the University of California San Diego, celebrated $12.6M in renewed funding from the Department of Energy with a morning reception event attended by campus leadership, elected officials, scientists and students.
Campus leadership, faculty, staff, students and alumni joined invited guests in the North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood for the grand opening of the UC San Diego Suraj Israni Center for Cinematic Arts. The community was treated with a welcome reception, photo opportunities and a special discussion with filmmakers and alumni Joanne Mony Park ‘10 and M.G. Evangelista ‘10, led by center director Michael Trigilio of the School of Arts and Humanities.
