During the 2015-16 Athletic Season UC San Diego won eight conference championships and the CCAA's Robert J. Hiegert Commissioner's Cup as the top overall athletic program in the conference.

Fencing brought four qualifiers to the National Collegiate Fencing Championships. Leanne Singleton-Comfort recorded the fencing program's best ever finish at the National Collegiate Championships, tying for third in saber.
