Now an international team of researchers including a computer scientist at the University of California, San Diego, report they have found a way to make crowdsourcing more reliable. They describe their findings in the Oct. 10 issue of the open access journal PLOS ONE.
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), endometriosis, a gynecological disorder in which cells from the uterus lining grow in other areas of the body, is the number one reason for a hysterectomy in women ages 18-35. A nationwide clinical trial is testing an investigational drug as a potential new option for patients with moderate to severe pain from this disease.

New research from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine suggests it’s the metabolic changes that take place once BPA is broken down inside the body that pose the greater health threat.
