UC San Diego is highlighting a selection of UC San Diego students, staff and faculty members who are living out the theme of Black Resistance in a variety of ways, ranging from their research topics to personal passions.
Five UC San Diego graduate students will soon join the ranks of the Bouchet Graduate Honor Society, a distinguished organization that applauds scholars whose commitment to diversity, leadership and academic excellence pushes the boundaries of doctoral education.
“The pandemic highlighted an underserved area—rapid detection of various different pathogens such as COVID, the flu, and other viruses,” says Shane Bowen '00, '05, a co-founder of Palamedrix.
Since its creation in 2015, The Commons has served a unique purpose at UC San Diego—to help students master the best ways to learn, and to assist faculty and graduate students in enhancing learning outcomes and student experiences in the classroom.
Akshara Kuduvalli, a computer engineering undergraduate student at the University of California San Diego, has been selected as a 2023 Brooke Owens Fellow. The Fellowship is awarded to exceptional undergraduate women and gender minorities in aerospace.
