That is one of the key challenges Dr. Bess Marcus has faced over the course of her career as a clinical health psychologist. She has spent the last 25 years conducting research on physical activity behavior, and her primary research interests are in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and cancer, and the promotion of women's health. Now she serves as Chair of UC San Diego's Department of Family and Preventive Medicine.
After six years in a North Vietnamese “reeducation” camp, Thai Hoang Do’s father escaped to Thailand with five children and his wife in tow. It was in a refugee camp in Thailand that Thai Do—the youngest of six children—was born to the Do family. Seven years later, the family moved to the United States, settling in San Diego’s City Heights neighborhood.
William C. Mobley, MD, PhD, chair of the Department of Neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and Chairman of the U.S. Scientific Advisory Committee of the Jérôme Lejeune Foundation, was recognized by U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions from the floor of the House of Representatives in December.
