Anticipation for this year’s Sun God Festival is strong with many students looking forward to the event from the very first day of the fall quarter. It is expected to draw as many as 20,000 students to RIMAC Field from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 3. Joseph L. Reid, professor emeritus of physical oceanography in the Integrative Oceanography Division at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego, and renowned expert in ocean circulation, died of natural causes on April 2, 2015, at his home in Del Mar, Calif. He was 92.
