Community College Students Explore Health Care Careers with the California Medicine Scholars Program

School of Medicine welcomed 51 community college students to the second cohort of the California Medicine Scholars Program, a premedical pathway in which community college students receive mentorship, skills development and community building to facilitate health care-related opportunities.

Students Meet Their Match

On Friday, fourth-year medical school students nationwide learned where they matched for residency training. At UC San Diego, 141 medical students matched, with 77% of them remaining in California for their graduate medical training.

More Than a Haircut

Each month, a group of University of California San Diego School of Medicine students can be found at Freshly Faded Barber + Shop in San Diego’s North Park community conducting blood pressure screenings as a complement to the haircuts and shaves that the Black-owned barbershop specializes in.
