Over 500 members of the UC San Diego community marched behind a banner declaring “Freedom Through Education” in San Diego’s 34th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade downtown.
From a Jedi to a human piñata and a jack-n-the-box, students, faculty and staff showcased their creative side in this year’s annual Halloween Costume contest. And hundreds gathered to witness the annual squash sacrifice—this year a 520-pound pumpkin dropped from the 9th story of Tamarack Hall in Muir College.
