2014 Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and Day of Service

Over 500 members of the UC San Diego community marched behind a banner declaring “Freedom Through Education” in San Diego’s 34th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade downtown.

2013 Founders’ Celebration

Founders’ Day—held on Nov. 15 in Town Square—united the campus community in a celebration of UC San Diego’s 53rd anniversary.

2013 Campus Halloween Celebration

From a Jedi to a human piñata and a jack-n-the-box, students, faculty and staff showcased their creative side in this year’s annual Halloween Costume contest. And hundreds gathered to witness the annual squash sacrifice—this year a 520-pound pumpkin dropped from the 9th story of Tamarack Hall in Muir College.

2013 Family Weekend

More than 2,200 students, parents, family members and friends participated in some 20 events as part of UC San Diego’s sixth annual Family Weekend.
