Donations to the general UC San Diego campus total to date $1.52 billion during the Campaign for UC San Diego. These gifts supported areas including scholarships and fellowships, research and innovation, campus transformation and community outreach.
11th Annual UC San Diego Powwow
The UC San Diego Powwow returned last weekend to celebrate the traditions of Native American people and their culture on campus. The annual event featured dancers in traditional regalia, bird singers and more.
Sun God Festival Returns
After a two-year hiatus, the student-curated, daylong music and arts festival is back! This year’s Sun God featured live performances by nationally touring artists Iann Dior, Keshi, UMI and more.
Innovation Day
The San Diego nonprofit Connect hosted the inaugural Petco Park takeover to highlight the diversity and opportunities offered by the region’s startup community, leading Mayor Todd Gloria to declare April 28 “Innovation Day” in San Diego. UC San Diego featured the largest representation of startups at the half-day event, highlighting the university’s commitment to driving discovery for societal good.
Still We Rise
The Division of Arts and Humanities recently hosted “Still We Rise,” a concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Lytle Scholarship and the establishment of the Cecil Lytle Endowed Chair in African and African American Music. The concert featured music and poetry from the African American experience.
