The University of California, San Diego is one of the best universities in the world to study international relations, according to Foreign Policy, a highly regarded magazine focused on global affairs, current events, and domestic and international policy.
In Foreign Policy’s 2015 rankings, the campus’s undergraduate international relations program, and its master’s program for policy careers in international relations were both ranked the 13th best in the world. In addition, the campus’s PhD program was named the 7th best in the world for students pursuing an academic career in international relations.
“We are proud to receive this recognition from Foreign Policy as one of the best universities in the world,” said Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla. “UC San Diego offers a well-rounded academic experience that effectively develops and educates global citizens—our future generation of thinkers and policymakers—for our increasingly interconnected society.”
The rankings are based on a survey of 1,615 international relations scholars drawn from 1,375 U.S. colleges, who were asked to name the best schools for both academic and policy careers.
UC San Diego’s academic programs in international relations are offered through the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies, and the Department of Political Science in the Division of Social Sciences.
