Triton Weeks of Welcome

On Monday, Sept. 19, students gathered on Sun God Lawn to picnic, play frisbee, explore campus organizations and more as part of the Black CommUNITY Cookout, hosted by the Black Resource Center (BRC)—one of six campus community centers at UC San Diego.

The Fall Y'all Festival featured games such as Pac Man, Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero for students to get immersed into.

Between Sept. 14-24, students and families were zipping to-and-fro across campus corridors with carts and suitcases, shuttling their belongings from car to residential suite.

Students had the chance to play frisbee, compete in a giant tic-tac-toe game, dance and more at the Black CommUNITY Cookout event.

Students had a chance to experience the variety of classes and activities that Recreation offers, including roller skating.

The annual kickoff event held by the Black Resource Center is designed to promote connections between new and returning students.

The annual Fall Y'all Festival, hosted by A.S. Concerts and Events, offered students the chance to get harnessed into a bungee to jump high in the air--and for the most daring, backflips!

The Black CommUNITY Cookout, held during Triton Weeks of Welcome, featured food, music, games and opportunities for new and returning students to connect.

Musical entertainment at the Fall Y'all Festival was provided by UC San Diego's Deejays and Vinylphiles Club (DVC), who got the crowd on the feet dancing.

During RecFest, new and returning students could take part in free classes, including ballroom dance.

During Fall Y'all Festival, students could have a custom balloon hat made for them, get a free boba drink, stop by a photo booth and more.

Nearly 13,000 beds were made available to undergraduate students for the upcoming academic year. And UC San Diego was able to add 700 undergraduate beds by providing a limited number of triples.
