As countries grapple with the practical realities of the Paris Climate Change, they must also recognize that pollution has many distinct effects. Victor and Veerabhadran Ramanathan in the newly published essay “The Next Front on Climate Change: How to Avoid a Dimmer, Drier World.”

John Holdren, President Barack Obama’s senior science and technology advisor, will speak at the University of California, San Diego for the fifth annual Herb York Memorial Lecture on Monday, Feb. 29. A keynote event for the UC Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC), the visit is cosponsored by the School of Global Policy and Strategy and Jacobs School of Engineering.
On February 24, the University of California, San Diego Library will sponsor Correcting the Course on Climate Change Negotiations: the Road from Paris COP21, featuring climate change policy expert David Victor and students Joaquin Vallejo and Shayla Ragimov, who attended COP21, and will provide their insights on the process and the outcome. The event is free and open to the public and will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Seuss Room in Geisel Library.
