An analysis of graduates’ compensation from Money.com data shows that UC San Diego is the fifth best college for students seeking a path from an affordable public college to a high-paying job. The personal finance news and advice website ranked the nation’s top public universities with alumni that earn an average of more than $100,000 within 15 years of graduation — without having to attend graduate school.

Study: Diminishing Sea Ice is Increasing the Size of Arctic Ocean Food Web Base

Researchers at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California San Diego and colleagues analyzed Arctic Ocean satellite data from a 19-year period and found that the amount of biomass production at the base of the food web has increased 47 percent since 1997.

Five UC San Diego Professors Named 2016 AAAS Fellows

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has awarded the distinction of fellow to 391 members, including five from the University of California San Diego. The new UC San Diego fellows, who will be recognized on Feb. 18 during the 2017 AAAS Annual Meeting in Boston, are Richard Carson, Konstantine Georgakakos, David Gough, Larry Smarr, and Lynne Talley.
