UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies and Tijuana software and technology company ITJ mark the first year of a partnership that is reshaping how the San Diego-Tijuana region thinks about workforce development, cross-border collaboration, and the future of tech education.
On December 2, 2024, Mike Madrid, author and nationally recognized expert on Latino voting trends, joined the UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies Helen Edison Lecture Series for an in-depth discussion on the changing state of American politics and institutions.
The University of California San Diego’s Division of Extended Studies and the Rady School of Management have partnered with the City of San Diego to offer free and discounted tuition as well as scholarships to city employees over the next five years.
The Burke Lectureship on Religion and Society, presented by UC San Diego Extended Studies, was founded to provide a dedicated platform for exploring the big questions that religion was meant to answer. This season, the lectureship, which celebrates its 40th anniversary at UC San Diego in April 2025, presented two moving and resonant events about gun violence to explore how individuals and communities can persist through tragedy. Featured presenters were film producer Susan Margolin with the screening of "A Tree of Life: the Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting" and gun violence prevention advocate David Miles Hogg, a mass shooting survivor from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
How would you treat pain in an alien, monster or superhero patient? For the young students enrolled in A Dose Of Pharmacreations, a course offered by the Sally Ride Science Academy within University of California San Diego Division of Extended Studies, the answer was multi-fold.
The theme of "Partnership and Collaboration” will take center stage on Thursday, September 18 at UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies Showcase 2024. Hosted in the new 8980 Villa La Jolla Drive building–-just across from UC San Diego's entrance at La Jolla Village Drive—the day's agenda will highlight the various services and benefits Extended Studies offers to support campus and community partners in achieving growth and innovation to meet their goals.
