This spring, we celebrated graduates from across UC San Diego’s School of Arts and Humanities who challenged themselves as artists and scholars, discovered new passions and built the confidence to pursue ambitious futures.
Two faculty members and two alumni from UC San Diego's Department of Music have received fellowships and awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a prestigious honor society that recognizes exceptional achievement among contemporary composers, writers, visual artists and architects.
The West Coast premiere of “The Monsters” marks a homecoming for Ngozi Anyanwu, a UC San Diego Theatre and Dance Acting MFA alumna. Anyanwu not only wrote the acclaimed two-hander but also co-stars in the production, running at La Jolla Playhouse through June 28.

UC San Diego’s new “Day of Dance,” happening June 4-6 at the Epstein Family Amphitheater, presents original choreographed works by students in the Department of Theatre and Dance alongside a special dance team showcase called V12ION that will feature nearly 300 student dancers from across campus.
On Sunday, May 17, more than 300 student musicians will perform at the second annual Arcades Music Festival. The free public event will be a feast for the ears, with over 10 hours of live performances ranging from jazz and chamber music to rock and opera.
