The UC San Diego Alumni Association has welcomed a new slate of executive officers and directors to its ranks, led by incoming board president Melody Gonzales ’02.
The UC San Diego Alumni Association has welcomed a new slate of executive officers and directors to its ranks, led by incoming board president Melody Gonzales ’02.
Entrepreneurial spirit and groundbreaking innovation have become synonymous with UC San Diego and its alumni. With that same ethos, the campus has launched the UC San Diego Founders’ Pledge. The new initiative allows entrepreneurs, equity holders and early investors to commit a portion of their anticipated equity gains to UC San Diego, with the ultimate goal of helping to address some of the world’s most pressing problems.
“The problem World Mobile is solving has global implications,” says Stuart Volkow, World Mobile program manager. “Those without [connectivity] are doomed to relative poverty.”
How can we better teach design? Nastasha Tan majored in cognitive science and focused on human-computer interaction, then went on to earn a master’s degree at Carnegie Mellon in human-computer interaction; today she is Chief Design Officer at Kite.
