October 15, 2015 — The University of California, San Diego has been named the 11th most ethnically diverse college in the nation, according to a new report. Best College Reviews, a ranking service for American colleges and universities, recently released a list of the top 50 ethnically diverse schools.  Statistics and definitions of race/ethnicity for the list were gathered from the National Center for Education Statistics, Diverse Issues in Higher Education and school websites. According to the report, UC San Diego looks at diversity as an opportunity for education.

October 5, 2015 — The new documentary “HIV/SIDA: The Epidemic in Tijuana” offers an unflinching look at the challenges facing researchers from the University of California, San Diego as they attempt to identify and treat people who inject drugs, sex workers, transgender women and others who are at high risk for HIV infection in Tijuana.

March 22, 2012 — Gordon Brown, who served as prime minister of the United Kingdom and leader of the Labour Party from 2007 to 2010, will present a free lecture on “Meeting the Millennium Development Goals” at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa across from the campus of UC San Diego.

March 15, 2012 — The number of continuing education students entering certificate programs at University of California San Diego Extension increased 19 percent last year, according to Elizabeth Silva, registrar and director of student services for the university’s continuing education programs.

November 29, 2011 — Online students now comprise 22 percent of continuing education enrollees at the University of California San Diego Extension, according to Elizabeth Meyer, director of online learning.

September 26, 2011 — Continuing educations classrooms and enrollments are on the rise at University of California San Diego Extension, according to Elizabeth Silva, registrar and director of student services for the University’s extended studies programs.
