UC San Diego’s Office of Innovation and Commercialization (OIC) launched the Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIR) program in 2015 to accelerate the creation of new startup companies. The OIC, a Research Affairs unit, will honor the newly appointed 2017 EIR cohort and thank the 2016 cohort for their hard work with a reception, Apr. 17, at Bella Vista Social Club and Caffé in the Sanford Consortium.

The next presentation in UC San Diego’s “Inside Innovation” series features Dr. Catriona Jamieson speaking on “Detection and Therapeutic Targeting of Cancer Stem Cell Evolution.” The free and public presentation will be held 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, in Roth Auditorium at the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine, 2880 Torrey Pines Scenic Drive. The San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) at the University of California, San Diego, has appointed Karen R. Flammer as Director of Education at SDSC, succeeding Diane Baxter, who officially retires on November 30. Flammer officially began her new role on October 1.
