Company Based on UC San Diego Technology Gets Infusion of Capital

A hardware security company co-founded by UC San Diego computer scientists has received $2 million in seed funding from Eclipse Ventures to ramp up engineering, sales and marketing of semiconductor design tools to identify and prevent security vulnerabilities.

UC San Diego to Honor World AIDS Day Dec. 1 with Memorial Quilt Display

The University of California San Diego will recognize World AIDS Day on Friday, Dec. 1 to draw attention to the impact of HIV/AIDS has on the San Diego community, the nation and the globe. In honor of the international event, which was established in 1988, the campus will sponsor a number of free activities open to the public including a display of three sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, the largest ongoing arts project in the world.

The new rankings measure academic institutions that create environments and policies which meet the needs of students with a wide range of gender and sexual identities, along with additional academic and affordability metrics.
