January 6, 2026 — A California Natural Resources Agency Youth Community Access grant enables UC San Diego's Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the Division of Extended Studies to expand a Conservation Leadership program for underserved highschoolers.

January 6, 2026 — This year, high school students can join a Conservation Leadership program at UC San Diego, born from a partnership between Scripps Institution of Oceanography and UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies. The program gives students unprecedented access to the ocean, research labs and working scientists, and lets them identify and lead conservation projects in their own communities.

December 9, 2025 — Degree Plus, a new UCOP-supported pilot initiative launching at UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara, is a central part of the UC commitment to improve early career outcomes for UC grads.

September 16, 2025 — On Monday, October 6, UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies will host its annual Showcase, celebrating the division’s expansive role in advancing the university’s mission through education, workforce development, and meaningful community partnerships.
