Niraj Dangoria has been appointed Vice Chancellor for Operations Management and Capital Programs. Reporting to the Chancellor and as a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet, Dangoria will join UC San Diego in July 2024. His selection follows a national search.
As Vice Chancellor for Operations Management and Capital Programs, formerly known as Resource Management and Planning, Dangoria will supervise a diverse portfolio of critical areas vital to the overall operations of UC San Diego including the Health System.
“With decades of experience focused on large scale institutional plans that effectively use campus resources, Niraj Dangoria is a welcome addition to the university,” said UC San Diego Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla. “His experience and expertise will support our shared goal of thoughtfully expanding access to the top-ranked education, groundbreaking research, award-winning healthcare and community enrichment that UC San Diego is known to deliver."
Dangoria most recently served as Associate Dean of Facilities Planning and Management at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he led a master plan to integrate long-term needs for the School of Medicine. In 2019, he was recognized with the Marsh O'Neill Award for exceptional and enduring support of Stanford University's research enterprise.
As Associate Vice President of Campus Development and Operations at California State University Monterey Bay, Dangoria helped transform a former military base into a modern, student-centered campus. During his time as Director of Campus Planning and Design at University of Cincinnati, he led a billion-dollar transformation of a commuter urban campus to an architectural icon.
“I’m so proud to join UC San Diego and become part of the Triton family,” said Dangoria. “I look forward to helping support faculty, student and staff success by creating the ecosystem we work and learn within.”
