Trajectories in Black Studies Symposium
Leading scholars in the field of Black Studies from throughout the UC system attended a two-day symposium on Trajectories in Black Studies: Interdisciplinary Foundations and New Formations at UC San Diego Jan. 30. The symposium was organized by the Black Studies Project at UC San Diego, along with a working group of faculty from other UC campuses. Chancellor Khosla stopped by the morning welcome session to greet the faculty, staff and students and to convey his support and his appreciation for their work and contributions. In addition to an opening plenary, the symposium included a series of afternoon breakout sessions, a closing plenary and a reception.
