Faculty and Staff Alert: New Design for Student Triton ID Cards

The Campus Card Office is alerting faculty and staff to be aware that beginning in fall 2014, incoming students will be carrying a redesigned Student Triton ID Card. In addition to serving as our students’ official photo identification card, the Triton Card provides access to campus buildings and events, lets them check out materials through the Library, allows the use of recreation facilities, serves as ID for tests and so much more.

Associated Students, working with External and Business Affairs and the Campus Card Office, approved the new design that encompasses the UC San Diego Triton Spirit and offers a timeless icon, the Triton. The new Triton Card will be phased in through attrition and begin circulation with the incoming class of 2014. Two cards – both the new design and the current card – will be in circulation on campus until 2018. Above is a preview of the new design, as well as a copy of the current card design.
