Princeton Review Names UC San Diego Top University for Return-on-Investment
UC San Diego has earned top recognition in The Princeton Review’s new rankings for the return-on-investment the campus offers to students. UC San Diego is ranked the nation’s 31st best college for students seeking great academics, outstanding career preparation and generous financial aid. The campus is also named a great value, taking the No. 21 spot as the best U.S. college for students who are not eligible for financial aid.
New PayScale Report Lauds UC San Diego for Earning Potential of Alumni
A new report from PayScale.com lists the University of California, San Diego as the 11th best public university in the U.S. for the average mid-career (15 years of experience) salary of alumni, which is $102,100 per year. The same report also names UC San Diego the 15th best public university for its return on investment (ROI) for alumni who are California residents.
UC San Diego Receives Record 78,056 Freshman and 16,144 Transfer Applications for Fall 2015
The University of California, San Diego has received a record 94,200 freshman and transfer applications for fall 2015. The university had the third highest number of applicants among the University of California campuses. Within the last decade, UC San Diego has consistently been one of the nation’s top five universities to receive the most applications.
Film Project Highlights Entrepreneurism at UC San Diego and on Torrey Pines Mesa
A breakthrough today was a crazy idea yesterday. That’s a line from a new film project that documents a student-driven effort at UC San Diego and research institutions across the Torrey Pines Mesa to encourage students to turn ideas and breakthroughs into startup companies. The short documentary film was produced and directed by Rajesh Grover, an assistant professor at The Scripps Research Institute and a visiting investigator at the J. Craig Venter Institute in La Jolla, and Kenan Azam, a data scientist in the laboratory of UC San Diego bioengineering professor Shankar Subramaniam. Both are former leaders of the UC San Diego Entrepreneur Challenge for the 2011-12 academic year.
