In New UC San Diego Contest, Undergrad Research Teams Compete for Project Funds

UC San Diego Named Among Nation’s Most Ethnically Diverse Colleges

The University of California, San Diego has been named the 11th most ethnically diverse college in the nation, according to a new report. Best College Reviews, a ranking service for American colleges and universities, recently released a list of the top 50 ethnically diverse schools.  Statistics and definitions of race/ethnicity for the list were gathered from the National Center for Education Statistics, Diverse Issues in Higher Education and school websites. According to the report, UC San Diego looks at diversity as an opportunity for education.

The mystartupXX Program Wins Award from U.S. SBA

The mystartupXX accelerator program, a collaboration of the California Institute for Innovation and Development at the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego and the UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering, has been chosen for a second time as one of the winners of the national Growth Accelerator Fund competition and recipient of a $50,000 award from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Rady School of Management at UC San Diego Hosts Summer Institute for Emerging Managers and Leaders

Qualcomm Institute-Based Startup Competes in World Cup Tech Challenge

One of the inaugural startups located in the Qualcomm Institute Innovation Space, VirBELA, has been selected to compete June 4 in the 2nd Annual World Cup Tech Challenge. The Silicon Valley contest will culminate in the event at Microsoft in Mountain View, CA, where 25 competing startups from 17 countries will present their companies.

Qualcomm Institute Launches Industry Innovation Space on UC San Diego Campus

Working closely with other campus entities to translate ideas from the lab into products and companies in the marketplace, the Qualcomm Institute has launched an Innovation Space where qualified faculty startups, industry partners or national laboratories can lease office or lab space inside the research institute’s headquarters building on the University of California, San Diego campus.

Rady School Ranked 1st in Intellectual Capital

The Rady School of Management at UC San Diego entered the Bloomberg Businessweek rankings at 51st overall in its first ranking by the publication. Even more impressive, the school ranked 1st in the United States in Intellectual Capital, which is a quality measure of faculty research. The Rady School’s Full-time MBA program was the only MBA program in San Diego to be ranked by Businessweek.

The mystartupXX Program Receives $50,000 Grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration

The mystartupXX program, a collaboration of the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego and the von Liebig Entrepreneurism Center at the UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering is pleased to announce it has been chosen as the recipient of a $50,000 grant from the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA). The announcement was made at the Rady School by SBA Administrator, and Obama Administration Cabinet member, Maria Contreras-Sweet.
