Giving Back to Inspire: Nobel Laureate Harry Markowitz Places Nobel Prize in UC San Diego Library

Nobel laureate Harry Markowitz, an adjunct professor at the Rady School of Management at the University of California San Diego, has placed his Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel (Nobel Prize) in the UC San Diego Library.

Two Endowed Faculty Chairs Established at UC San Diego’s Rady School of Management

Two endowed faculty chairs funded in part by Ernest and Evelyn Rady through the Rady Family Foundation have been established at UC San Diego’s Rady School of Management. Contributors throughout the U.S. invested a total of $3 million to fund the Dr. Harry M. Markowitz Endowed Chair in Finance and Investing and Duane A. Nelles Jr. Endowed Chair in Corporate Governance that will help recruit and retain exceptional faculty.

Philanthropists Evelyn and Ernest Rady Commit $100 Million to Benefit the Rady School of Management

The Rady Family Foundation has made a $100 million commitment to help recruit and retain faculty and fund strategic priorities at the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego. More than 200 Rady School supporters, alumni, students and business leaders attended a press conference Tuesday at the Rady School’s J.R. Beyster auditorium and a reception following the announcement.

With a $30 million lead gift in 2004, Evelyn and Ernest Rady and the Rady Family Foundation helped establish UC San Diego’s world-class, entrepreneurial business school—the Rady School of Management. They also contributed $5 million toward the expansion of the business school’s campus, and gave other significant gifts to ensure excellence at the school. Today UC San Diego announced that the Rady Family Foundation has made a $100 million commitment to help recruit and retain faculty and fund strategic priorities at the Rady School of Management.

Rady School of Management at UC San Diego Ranked 23rd in Businessweek’s Part-time MBA Ranking

The Part-Time MBA program (FlexEvening) at the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego has been ranked 5th in California and 23rd in the nation by Bloomberg Businessweek. This year marks the first time the Rady School’s FlexEvening program has been ranked by Bloomberg Businessweek, which publishes its survey in odd-numbered years.

Rady School of Management Ranked in Top 20 Globally for Research, Entrepreneurship

The Rady School of Management at UC San Diego has been ranked 19th in faculty research in the Financial Times’ Global MBA Rankings 2013. It also ranked 7th in entrepreneurship by alumni surveyed by the Financial Times of London. Among the more than 700 AACSB International accredited business schools worldwide, the Financial Times selected 155 for its full-time MBA ranking.
