Big change starts small—with one person, one gift, one hour.

UC San Diego’s Day of Caring, u.care, is all about coming together to spark change for future generations. And u.care ambassadors like Jim Kaplan ’84 are making an impact by giving one, getting five and going social. From now until May 12, ambassadors are celebrating with a gift or video of care, sharing their support with five people, and posting about u.care on social media using the hashtag #UCSDcares.

These small, simple actions can create big, collective change.

For Kaplan, the choice to give is an investment in the next generation of entrepreneurs, engineers, researchers, artists and medical professionals. Kaplan considers it a privilege to support UC San Diego by getting involved. That’s why he became a Chancellor’s Associate, Alumni Board member and a u.care ambassador.

"I’m thrilled to be a u.care ambassador,” says Kaplan. “UC San Diego has meant so much to me —not just cherished memories, but a rewarding career and the ability to give back to future generations. I can’t wait to share my Triton pride and inspire others to participate in u.care. I hope you’ll join me and become an ambassador."

During u.care, we need your help to raise funds and awareness for the causes you care most about. Your time, passion and commitment to a brighter future impacts our world now and for generations to come.
