…California San Diego has admitted 30,207 freshman and 9,595 transfer students for the fall 2017 term. Of the 39,802 new students, the university anticipates enrolling a diverse class of approximately 5,400 freshmen and 2,400 transfers. UC San Diego continues to increase its number of students from historically underrepresented groups.

In recent years, UC San Diego has been one of the nation’s top five universities with the most applications.
