The first good manufacturing practices facility dedicated to building devices that can be implanted in the human body – especially for neurological applications--on a university campus in the United States opened this fall at the University of California San Diego.
Located at the UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering, the facility meets strict standards and regulations needed for approvals by the Food and Drug Administration for devices implanted in the human body.
